You can hire an Arabic belly dancer in Dubai for an Arabian themed night, a majlis party, a wedding or a gala dinner. The dancer performs to Arabic music, in a costume chosen to suit your theme, as a solo act or as part of a group. Live musicians or a DJ can be added, in Dubai or Abu Dhabi.

Price: a belly dance show usually costs AED 1,500 to AED 2,000. Group shows, extra sets and peak dates cost more. See belly dance show prices.

Arabian themed events

An Arabian night is a natural setting for belly dance. Carpets, lanterns, low seating and Arabic music set the scene, and the dancer becomes the centre of it. The show works at a private villa, in a hotel ballroom dressed as a tent, at a restaurant or on a terrace. For a party at home, see private belly dancers. For a company night, see corporate belly dance shows.

Arabic music, recorded or live

The music is chosen to suit your event. Most Arabic shows use classic Arabic music, and you can send tracks you want included. For a bigger moment, the team can arrange live musicians, so the dancer performs to live Arabic rhythm. If the venue has no sound, a sound system or a DJ can be arranged too.

Which style?

Arabic belly dance is usually performed in one of two classic styles. The traditional Egyptian style is controlled and elegant; read more on the Egyptian belly dancer page. Turkish Orientale is more energetic and playful, with finger cymbals played by the dancer. Fusion mixes belly dance with modern music for a younger crowd. Compare them on the belly dance styles page.

Props for an Arabian show

Veils, swords, candles and finger cymbals all suit an Arabian theme. A veil gives a flowing entrance, a sword gives a dramatic balance moment, and candles work best with the lights down. Check the venue's rules on open flames before you choose candles.

Show length

A typical set lasts 10 to 15 minutes and is usually performed twice with a break. Extra sets can be added. Near the end, the dancer can invite a few guests up to learn some simple moves.
